British pioneering blues band, formed in 1979 by Paul Jones, The Blues Band, visit New Brighton for the final time in June.
Former lead vocalist and harmonica player with Manfred Mann, Paul Jones, and guitarist Tom McGuinness also of Manfred Mann and The Roosters will be there leading this final tour, playing a mixture of blues standards and original songs. Held in admiration by generations of R&B fans when they formed back in 1979, they have produced 16 albums and have amassed a career spanning over 40 years.
Along with Jones and McGuinness, The Blues Band are Dave Kelly, Gary Fletcher and Rob Townsend, and the band are still as pumped as ever in delivering kick-ass British blues. Jones is one of the great mouth organ players this country has seen, and influences include John Mayall, BB King, Howling Wolf and John Lee Hooker.
The Blues Band come to Liverpool to mark their final live performances with the release of their last studio album So Long – don’t miss this final, legendary tour to give the guys who have given so much to British music a fond farewell!
