Dutch musician Daniël Eskens recently released his much anticipated debut album, Sight Inside.
Eskens, who started out playing in various indie and jazz groups, has spent years composing and experimenting. The album marks his first solo outing and combines a diverse array of influences from Soulwax to Brian Wilson. The result is perhaps best described as borderless, it bridges electronic music, avant-jazz, and alt-pop.
The album release has been marked with the sharing of new track, Hopelijk. It is dynamic and builds on a pattern of repetition, like a child ‘jumping around and getting more and more excited’ (Eskens).
FAST DE, also recently shared the album title track Sight Inside which sees the band continue to push the envelope of their borderless sound combining effected basslines, with hook-driven guitars, astral synths, and deceptively intricate drum-breaks.
Sight Inside invites you into FAST DE’s kaleidoscopic world of complex rhythms, spirited improv, and playful melodies, and with new live dates on the horizon there is no better time to discover them.
