Description
This is the unabridged audiobook of Neon Ghosts, read by its author, British poet and playwright Alan Parry. Neon Ghosts was his debut poetry chapbook and the first book published by The Broken Spine, in 2020.
The collection is a set of vignettes of a distant and unattainable America, ‘that Stuart Davis knew’, seen through a distinctly British lens and paired with a longing for youth and lost relationships. Parry confronts death, criminal lust and love with a staccato nimbleness. His poems are brief, fleeting moments, observations of life through hotel windows and letterboxes; in his own words they ‘introduce you to characters, or warped representations of people I have known, and usually, they will be doing nothing of any note’.
The print and digital editions of Neon Ghosts are also available from our shop.
