American singer-songwriter and guitarist, James Taylor – a six-time Grammy Award winner, inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, and one of the best-selling music artists of all time (having sold more than 100 million records worldwide) is returning to Manchester later this year with what promises to be a night to remember, as always, with the legend!

Taylor, who achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the unforgettable single Fire and Rain and had his first No. 1 hit in 1971 with his recording of Carol King’s You’ve Got a Friend, is an acoustic warrior who is renowned for that silky, soothing voice and feel good records. He’s immense live, and you’ll need to be fast if you want to get a ticket to see his unique show full of pin-drop stories, world class musicianship, and timeless songs that melt the heart.

Taylor is also known for his covers, such as How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You) and Handy Man, as well as originals such as Sweet Baby James and Something In The Way She Moves, which inspired George Harrison to pen his immense ballad Something.

Taylor’s album American Standard was released in February 2020 and debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making Taylor the first act to earn a top 10 album in each of the last six decades. On November 24, 2020, the album was nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album”.[89] At the 63rd Grammy Awards, the album won the award, the first for James Taylor after being nominated in the same category in the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008 for James Taylor at Christmas. As well as all of his monumental hits, Taylor will be playing selections from this record on this rescheduled tour due to the COVID-19 crisis.
