British singer-songwriter and record producer, Michael Kiwanuka, is one of the shining stars of modern day music, having been nominated for numerous honours, including the Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, BBC Music Awards and The Grammy Awards. He received the Mercury Prize in 2020 for his outstanding third studio album, Kiwanuka – a record that stands up as one of the finest albums ever made in my opinion. His 2012 debut album, Home Again, went gold in the United Kingdom and his second album, Love & Hate, debuted in 2016 at number one. Kiwanuka’s musical style has been compared to the likes of Bill Withers, Terry Callier, Sly and the Family Stone, Richie Havens and even The Beatles. His dramatic blend of folk, rock, soul and gospel has created a sound that is deep, earthy, ethereal and captivating. This playlist covers the best of his three studio albums and some rare cuts from other projects.
