This performance showcased unbelievable talent via exceptionally creative artists who excelled in entertaining the sold-out auditorium within Liverpool’s iconic Philharmonic Hall.
Upon entering the auditorium, you would be forgiven for initially thinking this was going to be a serene classical night of entertainment, given that the stage was adorned with candles and instruments. However, from the first note of the electric violin in unison with the heady double bass, cello, and drums, the bar was raised to its highest point. The orchestra, all dressed in lace, chains, and full rock attire including gothic-style make-up, burst onto the stage with such ferocity that the roof was raised to heights it had never witnessed before.
… and the show commenced to the most enchanting, beguiling cacophony of rock music that simply broke the boundaries of what you would expect from classically trained artists.
The whole show was spectacular – a visual and auditory feast – making instruments literally ‘speak and sing’ to the audience. All the musicians and singers were super talented; however, Isaac Cortvriend on percussion took entertaining to the ultimate level. He was simply mesmerising to watch! He played all his many percussion instruments in a highly energetic manner, exhibiting a fun, modern, and sexy naughtiness that made you want to get up on stage and dance.
The audience clapped fervently at the end of every performance. Personally, I could have stayed there all night and listened to these extremely talented musicians who were as dynamic in presence as they were energetic in performance.
The London Symphony Rock Orchestra are currently on tour around the UK. I implore you to purchase tickets to witness this fantastic collection of highly trained artists playing rock songs with a difference.
