A fun family evening, where even well-behaved dogs are welcome—what’s not to love?

Set in the charming village of Culcheth, Partridge Lakes Fisheries offers a delightful escape into the Cheshire countryside, complete with a spacious free car park. Upon arrival, visitors can embark on one of two magical evening trails for a truly spooky adventure.

Families, couples, and furry companions alike, all bundled in warm clothes and sturdy footwear to tackle the aftermath of recent rain, entered the tented area illuminated with twinkling lights, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. The attention to detail was remarkable—sheepskin rugs on benches, candles on tables, and plenty of outdoor heaters and blankets at the welcoming hub. This free-to-access area also featured live music and a variety of food outlets—surprisingly affordable, which is a blessing for families—including Halloumination, Pizza in the Box, Spoon Desserts, and Partridge Café serving classic hotdogs, burgers, fries, and themed Halloween treats. A licensed bar was also available.

After enjoying live entertainment, the real magic began. A short animated video set the scene for the spooky adventure ahead, introducing the head witch, Luna, and her partner, Vicktor, who needed the audience’s help in finding an antidote to one of her curses gone wrong. It was a light-hearted and engaging storyline, perfect for keeping younger children entertained without being too scary.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the trail is now fully immersive, with actors interacting with and playfully tricking visitors along the way. The lakeside path was filled with just the right amount of Halloween eeriness to keep it fun and child-friendly, bringing the holiday spirit to life in a way that felt magical rather than frightening.

For those seeking a memorable and affordable night out filled with spooky surprises, the Halloween Lakeside Trail offers a wholesome experience that the whole family can enjoy.
