Preview: ‘Night Collar’ – Hilarious Liverpool Cab Comedy Parks Up at St Helens Theatre Royal | 26 Sept – 5 Oct 2026

Smash-hit scouse comedy Night Collar is screeching back into gear at St Helens Theatre Royal this autumn – and you’re invited to jump in for the ride.

The laugh-a-minute crowd-pleaser, written by Tony Furlong and Jimmy Power, returns in a brand-new production from Regal Entertainments, running from Friday 26 September to Sunday 5 October 2026.

Christmas Eve, One Taxi, and a Whole Load of Chaos

It’s Christmas Eve in Merseyside, and one cabbie – played by John May – is reluctantly working the dreaded “night collar” shift. What starts as a routine night behind the wheel spirals into chaos as he picks up a string of unforgettable passengers.

Among them?

  • A naked stag-do casualty abandoned in a wheelie bin
  • An Elvis impersonator with marriage troubles
  • A warring drunk couple mid-domestic
  • And a very dodgy Santa Claus battling a belly ache

It’s a madcap ride through the heart of Merseyside, packed with laugh-out-loud moments and plenty of festive farce.

The updated 2026 production is directed by Chantelle Joseph, with a supporting cast featuring Emma Grace Arends, Jenna Sian O’Hara, John O’Gorman, and Sam Jones-Arthur.
