If you are wanting to ‘belly laugh’ and be thoroughly entertained then why not head along to
Southport’s Comedy Festival which is back in full hilarious style for its eleventh year in an all
heated, all seated luxury marquee in Victoria Park, Southport. The prestigious laughter event
sponsored by Halliwell Jones BMW, runs from 30th September until 16th October 2022.

This year amongst many festival favourites, up-and-coming comedians will battle it out aiming to
achieve the coveted ‘Southport’s Comedian of The Year’ Award which has catapulted many
comedy geniuses to super stardom and regular TV appearances on both panel shows and as
resident in situ. As if this isn’t enough of an attraction, the festival also welcomes a host of big
names in comedy such as: Al Murray, Milton Jones, Jeff Green and Maisie Adam.

Maisie, who ‘cut her comedy teeth’ at the Ilkley Literature Festival before winning the Best
Newcomer at the infamous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017 demonstrated her distinctively,
quirky North Yorkshire comedic talent and timing at So You Think You’re Funny competition. In
2018, she returned from a successful tour with her one woman show, Vogue before embarking on
a 2019 tour with her show Hang Fire. Maisie is now a regular panellist on: BBC’s Mock the Week,
Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Last Leg and ITV’s The Stand-Up Sketch Show.

Maisie’s first choice of career surprisingly, wasn’t comedy. The ex-head girl and winner of 2015
Sit-com Writing Mentorship, initially set out to be serious actress. Although thanks to her
professionalism and tenacity alongside comedy, she now boasts an impressive number of acting
credits. She is also an accredited writer for comedy colleague Rob Beckett, with his Rob Beckett’s
Socials show on Channel 4.
