As the summer of 2024 approaches, Lytham Festival, the crown jewel of the North West’s live music scene, is gearing up to present a spectacular lineup over five nights that promises to be an eclectic blend of rock, pop, and indie music. Headlining the festival are names that resonate deeply with the ethos of independent music: Hozier, Madness, Courteeners, and James, each set to bring their unique sounds to the Lytham Green stage.

This year’s festival, taking place from July 3 to July 7, 2024, will open with a performance by Hozier, the Irish singer-songwriter whose global hit “Take Me to Church” catapulted him into the limelight. Known for his ethereal fusion of folk, blues, and rock, Hozier has not only topped charts but has also been recognized with prestigious awards, including a Grammy Song of the Year nomination and the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year.

Joining him as special guests are the dynamic Brittany Howard, renowned for her genre-transcending sound, and the indie folk band Lord Huron, famous for their cinematic storytelling and harmonies.

The festival’s commitment to showcasing a variety of musical styles is evident in the inclusion of artists like pop icon Rick Astley, British music legend Johnny Marr, and the English pop-rock band The Kooks, each bringing their distinct musical flair to the event.

A highlight of the festival will be the exclusive UK festival performance by indie legends James, accompanied by the Orca22 Orchestra and the Manchester Inspirational Voices Choir. Celebrating 40 years in the music industry, James continues to be a force in British music, known for their adventurous and melodically rich sound.

Supporting James will be Johnny Marr, the co-founder of The Smiths, whose career spans multiple collaborations and successful solo projects. His set is expected to be a journey through his extensive and varied music catalogue.

The Courteeners, another major draw for the festival, are set to perform their only North of England headline show of the summer. With their debut album “St. Jude” reaching Number 1 fifteen years after its release, they have become a significant part of the UK’s music scene. The Kooks and indie pop riser Nieve Ella will support them, adding to the festival’s rich tapestry of sounds.

Madness, one of the UK’s most enduring and beloved bands, will return to Lytham, supported by Rick Astley and the Lightning Seeds, ensuring that festival-goers experience a mix of nostalgia and contemporary sounds.

Lytham Festival 2024 is not just a celebration of music but a testament to the enduring appeal of the British indie scene. With a lineup that spans generations and genres, the festival promises to be a memorable experience for all who attend. Tickets are already on sale, with the anticipation building for what is set to be one of the summer’s most exciting musical events.
