GRAMMY Award-winning sister duo Larkin Poe have officially announced their highly anticipated new album, Bloom, set to be released on 24th January 2025 via their own Tricki-Woo Records. The album is preceded by the release of their latest single, “If God Is A Woman”, which is available on streaming platforms now, accompanied by an official music video.
The Georgia-born, Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, fresh off their win as “Duo/Group of the Year” at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards, are ready to continue their journey with Bloom, a follow-up to their 2022 GRAMMY-winning album Blood Harmony. Pre-orders for the new album are available now.
The new single, tIf God Is A Woman, showcases Larkin Poe’s signature blend of gritty blues and rock with a modern lyrical perspective. Speaking about the track, Rebecca Lovell shared: “Defying expectation requires great effort, but the cathartic joy of deeper self-discovery is worth the struggle. If God Is A Woman was written as a reminder to resist the typecasting of women, both conscious and unconscious. There are many shades of existence, and we had fun painting abstract with this sardonic blues.”
Fans can watch the video for If God Is A Woman and stream the song online now.
A Musical Journey That Continues to Bloom
The announcement of Bloom follows the success of their earlier 2024 release, Bluephoria, the album’s genre-bending lead single. Described by Rebecca as “a rock ’n’ roll rumination on the duality of the human experience, where suffering and joy intertwine to create meaning,” Bluephoria was accompanied by a striking music video filmed at Nashville’s Third Man Records.
Larkin Poe’s upcoming album explores deeper themes of self-discovery, introspection, and individuality, with the sisters delving into personal narratives that reflect universal themes. The album was largely co-written and produced by Megan, Rebecca, and Tyler Bryant, marking a significant evolution in their sound. Tracks like the contemplative Mockingbird and the gritty anthem Pearls capture the duo’s bold willingness to confront today’s realities, all while staying true to their blues and rock roots.
“Bloom is about finding oneself amidst the noise of the world,” says Rebecca Lovell. “It’s about embracing the flaws and idiosyncrasies that make us real.” Megan adds, “Pretty much all the songs on this album are about finding yourself, knowing yourself, and separating the truth of who you are from societal expectations.”
An Epic Year of Touring
Larkin Poe’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. The duo has spent 2024 on an extensive global tour, performing at some of the world’s biggest festivals and collaborating with music legends. Highlights include a US run with Slash’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival, a standout appearance at the Cambridge Folk Festival, and performances at top festivals like Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond and Ocean City’s Oceans Calling.
In 2025, the sisters will continue to bring their electrifying live shows to audiences around the world. They are scheduled to perform at Melissa Etheridge’s Moon Crush “The Sea & Me” in Florida next May, with more tour dates to be announced soon. With Bloom, Larkin Poe are set to further cement their reputation as trailblazers of contemporary American roots music, blending soulful harmonies with thought-provoking lyricism that speaks to the heart of their listeners.
