Heart and Heritage: Little Women at the Liverpool Playhouse

Anne-Marie Casey’s new stage adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s much-loved and timeless story of Little Women took the Liverpool Playhouse by storm.

With a clever stage adaptation by Anne-Marie Casey this phenomenal production was heart-warming and funny; capturing the essence of the civil-war era and the constraints placed upon women whilst demonstrating the unbreakable bonds between sisters and their unwavering love and support of each other whilst navigating their teenage years into womanhood. The production was 

The set design was impressive and moved with ease to allow for a seamless transition between scenes.  Props and costumes were additionally befitting of their portrayed era.

The acting was captivating and utterly believable by all artists who appeared on the stage: 

Belinda Lang Aunt March.

Inspired by author Louisa May Alcott’s own journey into womanhood, Little Women is as relevant today as it was at the time of its first release, proving that women can be bold, persistent, self-assured, and the heroes of their own story.
