Hilarious, utterly scouse and highly entertaining!
If you want an uplifting night of belly laughing wrapped unsubtly in scouse humour, then the sequel to one of Liverpool’s much loved plays is the one for you.
A highly entertaining sequel to the popular The Peaceful Hour, Writer Gerry Linford delivered another smash hit. Emma Bird – Director ensured the entire cast delivered a truthful, yet comedic performance that touched on many Thatcherite policies of era that had an effect on the shaping of Liverpool and how the rest of the UK felt about the Northern city under her premiership.
The comedic story evolves around a family the night before a wedding. In true scouse humour everything you could think of… goes wrong. It is far-fetched, yet still believable with characters that are completely relatable. The mum is a typical scouse mum and whilst the males roles are exaggerated stereo-types, you cannot help feel a mix of sympathy and affection for the hilarious situation they find themselves in.
With an abundance of local references, even a radio show by local celebrity and ageing DJ, Pete Price, this show ensured you left with a good feeling and had you singling along to its totally wicked sound track.
